I'm currently looking for new ideas to upgrade my website (chrisrosa.com) to give it a more esthetically appealing look, and in the process I'm researching other blog sites. I had heard about twitter on my BusinessWeek magazine podcast, but when I went to the site I was somewhat disappointed. I knew that it was a shorter microblog that only allows 140 words or less to post things, but it reminded me of AIM away messages and facebook status updates. I immediately thought that this site was for older people who have never utililzed those tools as a way to communicate, but I started wondering what their average user age is?
For those who don't want to use other social networking sites or have them banned at work, it seems like a great way to let others know what they're doing, but for the masses of people who have gmail, AIM, or facebook I don't feel like they're missing a thing.
